Earth’s Cosmic Ride: 107,000 km/h Through Space

Earth is hurtling through space at about 107,000 km/h (around 30 km every second) as it orbits the Sun, yet we don’t feel the motion at all.
That’s because everything around us is air, oceans, buildings and even our bodies is moving at the same speed in the same direction. Just like when you’re in a smooth-moving train and can walk around without noticing the speed, Earth’s steady motion in space is constant and without sudden changes, so there’s no jolt for us to feel.
Meanwhile, the Sun itself is also racing through the Milky Way at nearly 828,000 km/h, carrying our planet along for the ride.
It’s like we’re on a giant cosmic spaceship… and no one even needs a seatbelt.
